About Edgar Jones

Edgar Jones (Edgar Summertyme or Edgar ‘Joneses’ Jones), Mercury music prize nominee and cult hero, has achieved legendary status as a Liverpool-based singer-songwriter and musician who has a distinctive style of garage-rock, blues-rock and 60s-inspired pop.

Originally the bass player and frontman of The Stairs, he also formed and fronted The IsritesThe Big Kids (including future members of The Zutons and The Stands), Edgar Jones & The Joneses and Free Peace.

Edgar also plays bass for other musicians and has worked with several prominent artists, including Ian McCulloch (Echo & The Bunnymen)Johnny MarrPaul Weller, Saint EtienneCherry Ghost, The Las and Love, and has toured with Grammy Award winning Robert Cray and Jools Holland & His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.
